at Hanukkah Party

Hanukkah is the festival of light, with the candles shining brightly at Beth Isaiah on Sunday December 13.

About 50 children and adults enjoyed great latkes, sufganiyot doughnuts and good company at the congregation's Hanukkah party. There were Lego and edible Hanukkah menorahs, or Chanukiot, of every colour and flavour, for all tastes, with the children showing their creativity. About half a dozen Chanukiot were lit and interesting stories were told about why they are special to that person or family.

A special thank you to Techiya for all the hard work that went into making the candlelighting and party a special time to remember. Thanks also to her helpers, the latke crew - Cantor Avraham Fisher, Avraham, Amelia, Johanna and Howard.
