Hello [NAME] from Beth Isaiah Synagogue!

Thanks to all the volunteers, too many to mention, who made this Purim a very successful event.  It was a wonderful holiday overflowing with community  spirit.  We were very happy to see the synagogue filled with people who came to prepare baskets, deliver them, call friends and remind them of the reading, and everyone sharing the importance of the mitzvah of bringing happiness to friends and family.

On Saturday night, the synagogue was full of adults, children and students. Many came dressed in costumes (an enjoyable custom), and others joined in the festive mood and donned colourful masks. On cue from M.C. Guy Farb, the children used their noisemakers every time Haman’s name was read.

After reading the Megilla, everyone went downstairs to fulfill the other mitzvah of Purim -- Be happy,  eat Hamentaschen, and enjoy some tasty “beverages”.  People had a great time chatting and stayed well into the night. It was very nice to see everyone enjoying the holiday to its full extent.

We have a few Jams left, at $4 per jar. Please call Techiya at 519.265.1591 if you are interested in purchasing some.

Matanot La'evionim

Matanot la’evionim -- money to the poor. This year we gave to an organization called Paamonim. It has 1,000 volunteers who help over 2,500 people out of debt and establish a solid financial base.  For more information, visit: http://paamonim3.royal-g.net/eng/
